I'm trying to create a command line tool that allows you to install packages without root, but apt-get complains about not being able to find a source. How do I fix this without root access? I have not been able to use apt-getbecause I can't use apt-get without dpkgand I can't use dpkg without root. Installing stuff on repl. it is hard, I usually wget the source code and run. RowanFromBJC it's possible to extract deb packages without root, and there's also an install-pkg command available.
The problem here is likely that apt needs its mirrors updated which cannot be done without root.
